This Arab dagger belonged to the late Sheikh Ali bin Abdullah Al Thani, ruler of Qatar from 1949-1960. The dagger has a steel blade, and a gold plated sheath decorated with precious stones. The handle is believed to be made out of ivory or rhododendron.
