This shamsheer sword was presented to Sheikh Ali bin Abdullah Al Thani by Sheikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa of Bahrain in 1953. It has a wrought iron blade and a gilded ivory handle. The sheath is made of leather with gold plates and is decorated with scorpion motifs in gold thread.
