The Order of the Republic of The Gambia was granted to His Highness The Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, ruler of Qatar from 1995-2013.

The order has five grades and a medal; 1) Grand Commander, 2) Grand Officer, 3) Commander, 4) Officer, and 5) Member.

The medallion, affixed to a golden plate, is crafted in the shape of a star and boasts ten lions standing guard around its perimeter. Each arm of the star is adorned with a gilded border, and atop the medal sits a golden helmet. In the center of the medallion, against a backdrop of blue, green, and red resembling Gambia's flag, lies a hammer and shovel fashioned from gold. A wreath encircles the emblem, weaving its way through the arms of the star.
