This medal, Order of the Republic of The Gambia, was granted to His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, ruler of Qatar from 1995 to 2013.

The order has five grades and a medal; 1) Grand Commander, 2) Grand Officer, 3) Commander, 4) Officer, and 5) Member.

The medallion, attached to a golden plate, is crafted in the shape of a star and boasts ten lions standing guard around its perimeter. Each arm of the star is adorned with a gilded border, and atop the medal sits a golden helmet. In the center of the medallion, against a backdrop of blue, green, and red resembling Gambia's flag, lies a hammer and shovel fashioned from gold. The medal is fastened to a green, red, and blue ribbon.
