The Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany was awarded to His Highness The Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, ruler of Qatar from 1995-2013.

Established in 1951 by President Theodor Heuss, the Order of Merit is the Federal Republic of Germany's most prestigious accolade, recognizing individuals who have demonstrated exceptional service and achievement in various fields, including social, cultural, philanthropic, economic, and charitable endeavors. The Order of Merit is open to both German nationals and foreign individuals who have contributed significantly in these areas.

Fashioned in the shape of a cross, the medallion features a golden circle at its center adorned with intricate designs depicting an eagle. This emblem is affixed to an octagonal base crafted from the same precious metal.
