In 1977, the former Amir of Qatar (1972-1995), Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani, received the Medal of the Union of Arab Historians. The Union of Arab Historians, established on May 18, 1974, in Baghdad, endeavors to promote collaboration and solidarity among Arab historians across various fields of expertise.
